Ronkeisha Lavine (30) of Lafayette, has been charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder in the New Year's Day stabbing that left a man in critical condition.
Disturbance Leads to Arrest for Attempted Murder
Lafayette, LA – On January 1, 2014, at approximately 6:00 am, Lafayette Police responded to a local hospital in regards to a stabbing. The victim, a 31 year old male, advised officers that at 2:00 am he was involved in a disturbance with the suspect at a residence in the 100 block of Roy Street. During the disturbance the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest with a sharp object. The victim did not immediately seek medical attention and police were not called to the scene.
At approximately 6:00 am, the victim was transported to the hospital by the suspect, where he remains in critical condition. The suspect, Ronkeisha Lavine (30) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
Stabbing leaves man in critical condition
A New Year's day stabbing has left one man in critical condition.
According to Lafayette police, a domestic disturbance between an unidentified male and female took place early around 2:30 Wednesday morning at the 100 block of Roy Street.
During the course of the fight, the female allegedly stabbed the male. No one involved in the incident contacted the authorities nor did the male seek medical attention right away.
An ambulance was called to take the male victim to the hospital around 5 a.m., when police were finally notified.
The male victim has been listed in critical condition. So far, no arrests have been made in this case and the investigation is ongoing.
