Chastant Brothers present Lawn and Garden
Gary: Today on your Lawn & Garden we're hitting the garden and John, it seems like the work never stops.
John: Ah, never. I tell you what. It's still looking good right now. We have the broccoli cabbage and cauliflower, onion tops, garlic and all that in there. Everything is doing good. Some of the people who don't have anything in there garden because they took everything out or they didn't have a fall garden. It's a good time to get ready for the spring.
This is the time you're going to put in your gypsum, your lime, and you 5-20-20 in the garden. Work it all into your garden, make your rows and everything, and it's gonna be ready for the spring. It takes that long for the lime and other things to work so you want to put it in.
And then if you think you're guessing at what your PH is in your garden, we have this little PH testing kit that you send off to LSU, it takes about a week to get your results. They have several bags in here to put your samples of your soil. It runs you about sixteen dollars, that's it. Free shipping, it's just sixteen dollars to pay LSU for the testing. And then you know exactly where you are on your PH, if you're too high or too low, if you need to add lime or sulphur.
