Victim identified in Iberia Parish shooting

Authorities have identified the person who was shot and killed on November 27 in Iberia Parish.

The victim has been identified as Alfred Buteaux. Detectives arrested 62-year-old Randall Girouard of Iberia Parish in connection to the shooting. Girouard was charged with manslaughter and was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.


An arrest has been made in connection to the shooting that occurred at the 12000 Block of Kilgore Road. Detectives arrested 62-year-old Randall Girouard of Iberia Parish.

Girouard was charged with manslaughter and was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on the charge of manslaughter.

 


Police say on November 27 Iberia Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a male being shot at a location on 80 Arpent Road. 

As deputies arrived at the scene, they leaned that the shooting occurred in a wooded area off of the 12000 Block of Kilgore Road South of Jeanerette.

Once on scene, deputies learned that a male victim, age 56, had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The victim had no signs consistent with life and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner's Office. Detectives believe the victim and suspect were involved in an argument prior to the shooting.
