LGMC donates turkeys to Second Harvest Food Bank

Updated:

Lafayette General Medical Center donated turkeys on Tuesday totaling a weight of 2,038 pounds to Second Harvest Food Bank.

The donations came after each employee decided to donate their turkey vouchers received from their employer and then in cooperation with rouses presented the turkeys to the Second Harvest Food Bank location on Pinhook Road.

Second Harvest Food Bank stores food in their warehouse and distributes to their network of non-profit member agencies serving those in need.

They have 182 distribution points throughout Acadiana and New Orleans.
