Seed to table to Thanksgiving celebration postponed

Updated:

Due to cold and wet conditions in the garden, Seed to Table's Thanksgiving in the Garden scheduled for noon today has been postponed.  The event will be rescheduled in the near future

The garden is full of turnip greens, lettuce, arugula and more.

Youth participants will gather for their weekly Garden Club to harvest and prepare a healthy Thanksgiving meal on their new picnic tables.

The event will be held Wednesday, November 27 at noon at the Truman Montessori School, 200 Clara Street, Lafayette, LA 70501.

Seed to Table is part of the Healthy Living Club, a first-of-its-kind concept in Lafayette.

The goal of the Healthy Living Club is to encourage families in the Lafayette area to make healthy living choices, including better eating choices and adopting an active lifestyle through exercise and mental stimulation.
