Former Jennings police chief Johnny Lassiter plead guilty to two counts of malfeasance in office.

A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered, no sentencing date until that is completed.

Lassiter was arrested in January on charges of theft over $1500, malfeasance, obstruction of justice and injuring public records after an audit of the department's evidence room found that several items were missing, including drugs.

The injuring public records charge has been dismissed.
