Gary: Today on your lawn and garden we're talking about the Fall garden and it's looking pretty good, especially the okra!
John: Oh, yeah. It's growing like crazy right now and until we get a good frost it's gonna take off and be crazy. It's producing every day I gotta go out there and cut it. It doesn't take much, I have like three eight foot rows, twenty four feet total. I don't need any more than that. So, it doesn't take much, you know? Some people that don't like okra a lot, just plant one row, ten foot that is all you need.
Right now we do have some cabbage planted in here, this is the time of year to get your cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, all that. This is the time, get it out. Make sure you put your 5-20-20 fertilizer in there before so it's all ready to go.
Seed-wise; you can go with your shallots right now, onion tops – gumbo season is coming so you wanna be supplied with onion tops. Mustard, turnip, radish, lettuce; we have it by plants or by seeds you can plant. All of them do great at this time of the year.
GARY: what do we have down here?
JOHN: This is a little cabbage plant right here, they just come in little six-packs so I'll just put it in there. We just cover it up and all you got do is water. Now, I put the 5-20-20 out already. Ad then the shallots right here, very easy. Once you have your ground worked up all you do is push them in and that's it, they're planted.
