Louisiana high school boxing began in 1931 and ran through 1958. During those years high school gyms all across the state were packed for bouts and many of these prep fighters moved on and earned scholarships to colleges and universities.
But more than that, the sports molded these young boys into men!
The state's best hall of fame prep boxers gathered with their family friends as the first 32 members of the Louisiana High School Boxing Hall of Fame were inducted on Sunday. These former champs also enjoyed joking around about the good old days.
