7 missing at sea

Posted: Updated:

A new satellite image showing what appears to be a boat in the Tasman Sea is giving renewed hope to a Lafayette family.

Their nineteen year old daughter, UL Lafayette student Danielle Wright, was one of seven members aboard the Niña, which went missing back in June. While the recent satellite image is positive news, New Zealand authorities won't act until a better image is produced. And that's why the Wrights are growing frustrated with the lack in our governments involvement in finding the 7 crew members, 6 of which are from the USA.

Ricky and Robin Wright say our government has the ability to sharpen the image because it was their satellites which skewed it. They go on to say that authorities in New Zealand vowed to fund the rescue operation if an image is produced clearly showing a boat. The Wrights have enough money to fund one more search mission.

If you'd like to help fund future search missions, you can donate checks to any home bank location, make checks payable to Robin Wright Account number 2059321602, go online to Community Foundation of Acadiana and make donation or drop off check at their office 1035 Camellia Blvd. in Lafayette.

You can also donate to Texas EquuSearch. For any further information go to Facebook and visit their page by typing in "Bringing Home the Nina and her crew."
