Lafayette man arrested in shooting on South Sterling

A Lafayette man turned himself into police in connection to a shooting that happened Saturday in the 900 block of Sterling Street.

21-year-old John M. Nicholas turned himself into police on Monday and was charged with seven counts of attempted first degree murder.

According to the victims, the Nicholas was involved in a disturbance with his girlfriend and departed the residence. Police say Nicholas allegedly drove by the residence and fired multiple shots into the residence.

There were seven people inside of the home at the time of the shooting ranging from the age of six months to 50 years of age. No one was injured inside of the home.
