Festivals Acadiens et Créoles officially kicks off today in Girard Park.
The cutting of the boudin will take place at 5 p.m. at Scène Ma Louisiane. There will be music from Geno Delafose & French Rockin Boogie with Special Guest Joel Sonnier and Jambalaya Cajun Band with Special guest Jimmy C Newman, Belton Richard and DL Menard.
The festival will also take place all day Saturday and Sunday. It will feature music, dancing, crafts, demonstrations, cultural presentations, kids activities and more.
Friday's Music Line-up
5:15 - 6:45 - Geno Delafose & French Rockin Boogie with Special Guest Joel Sonnier - Scène Ma Louisiane
7 - 8:45 - Jambalaya Cajun Band with Special guest Jimmy C Newman, Belton Richard and DL Menard - Scène Ma Louisiane
Festival goers can park their car at Cajun Field for free and ride the shuttle from the corner of Congress & Cajundome Blvd. to Girard Park.
The shuttle ride is $1 each way.
Parking on the UL Lafayette campus will be available to the public for $10 per vehicle/per entry at the following locations:
Zone 15 - on Girard Park Lane next to E.K. Long Gym
Zone 13 - on E. Lewis Drive next to Fletcher Hall
Zone 11 - on E. Lewis Drive next to Griffin Hall
The rest of the UL campus is restricted and will not be available for festival parking.
