Lafayette Parish Sheriff Mike Neustrom of Louisiana Sheriff's Association awarded two Lafayette Parish high school graduates $500 each to go towards their college education.

Each year LSA awards one senior with a $500 scholarship from each parish in the state, while the local sheriff selects the winner. Sheriff Neustrom has matched that awarding a second senior each year for the past 12 years.

This year's scholarship winners are Garret Lavergne a graduate of Carencro High School and Hannah Richard a graduate of Lafayette Christian Academy.

Both are now Ragin' Cajuns as they attend the UL Lafayette.
