Traffic stop yields two drug arrests in Iberia Parish

Iberia Parish authorities arrested two suspects during a traffic stop after finding illegal drugs in their car.

The incident happened Tuesday at U S Highway 90 and Weeks Island Road. Deputies say they observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation as it was headed West on Hwy 90. Authorities then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found "crack" cocaine, methadone and drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle.

32-year-old Wendy Mathis of Duson, was charged with possession of schedule II narcotics, (traffic citation) vehicles following to close and drug paraphernalia. 62-year-old Cleveland Sereal of Carencro, was charged with possession of schedule II narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
