Bus driver fired after leaving kid on bus

A Eunice Elementary student was left on a bus at a truck stop casino, according to St. Landry Superintendent Edward Brown.

The bus driver went in to the casino, after dropping students off, and once he returned to the bus he notice a child still on-board. He called his superiors and the child was safely taken to school. The bus driver has been fired and the child has been removed from that route.

The driver claimed he stopped to use the restroom at the casino. Through an investigation St. Landry School Transportation Department found the bus had been to the casino truck stop on several occasions.
