Festival International de Louisiane has announced DD Manly as the official 2014 Visual Artist.

In a press release organizers say she will design one extraordinary art masterpiece that captures the spirit and tradition of the nation's largest free Francophone festival. The artwork created for Festival International each year, serves as the visual representation of the cultural connections between Acadiana and the Francophone world through music and, is the design inspiration for the official Festival poster and cloisonné pin.

In the past 27 years, many of the state's finest visual artists have held the title of Festival International Official Visual Artist. DD Manly was selected for her distinctive style in her extensive body of work that celebrates the joie de vivre in southwest Louisiana and its shared connection to the global community.

Manly says, "Centering and following your intuition on point of inspiration, color and composition is what I love about the creative process. It allows you to unfold the mystery as you paint."

"DD Manly is a visual storyteller who shares her love and passion for our culture and heritage." says Diane Harris, Interim Executive Director of Festival International de Louisiane. "As our official visual artists she was invited to create one work of art that represents our festival's connection to the global community."

The completed art piece will be unveiled at Festival International's annual Pin Premier event in early January 2014.
