If you're looking for a good source of education that is also entertaining, Zoosiana, formally know as the Zoo of Acadiana offers you just that.

Zoosiana has a special facility that makes it unique to most zoos in the state, the zootorium, which is about two years old, and is where zookeepers perform the zoolive show.

"We focus quite a bit on education with Zoosiana and this is one of our venues that we have. It's a wonderful show that we have a variety of animals that we can bring out and just give a little history and information on them" says owner Geroge Oldenburg.

Different animals like the Scarlet Parrot, Lesser Anteater, the Eurasian Eagle Owl and the Serval Cat This are featured in the show.

The zoo staff also offers hands of experience to animal education.

"If there is a special animal that a school is studying about and we have that animal here, we're more than happy to do a special segment on that" says Oldenburg.

Many of the animals, like have been taught to communicate with the audience.  The zoo is open 7 days a week from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and if you're interested in the zoolive show, they're performed every weekend, multiple times through out the day.
