2 Lafayette men arrested for robbery, rape

Lafayette police arrested two Lafayette men who were wanted for armed robbery and aggravated rape.

22-year-old Demetrice D. Culbreth and 22-year-old Mitchell A. Flemming have been charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated rape in connection with the incident that occurred in June.

The incident happened at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Belle Fontaine Drive. A male and female victims were standing between two buildings when two black males approached them with handguns.

The suspects took the victim's cellphones and car keys then allegedly sexually assaulted the female victim. A third victim walked upon the suspects in the act and was ordered to the ground. The suspects stole the third victim's cell phone and wallet.
