New Iberia man arrested after stabbing

Iberia Parish authorities arrested a New Iberia man after he allegedly stabbed another person.

Authorities say it happened Tuesday in the 1700 block of New Horizon Street in Iberia Parish. Deputies say a 47-year-old man had been cut during an altercation. The victim stated he was confronted by the suspect who brandished a knife and stabbed the victim on the head.

The suspect was later identified as 28-year-old Lee Fowler of New Iberia. Fowler was taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery and also had an outstanding warrant for monetary instrument abuse. Fowler was then booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.

The victim only received minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the incident.
