A full slate of events were on tap at the Horse Farm Saturday for this year's edition of PlantFest.

More than 150 plant varieties were on display at the festival, and the Lafayette Parish Master Gardeners held a plant sale for anyone wanting to spruce up their gardens for the upcoming season.

The master gardeners hosted several workshops, on topics such as building a mini-greenhouse, cooking herbs from your own garden and tree maintenance. Throughout the day, speakers discussed topics such as growing herbs in south Louisiana, organic gardening, and fall vegetables.

Lafayette City-Parish President Joey Durel made an appearance to celebrate the official grand opening of the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm.
