Opelousas deputy cleared of charges

An Opelousas City Marshal who was accused of abusing his authority and committing battery on a young woman during the course of an investigation has been cleared of all charges.

Opelousas Police began the investigation after a 16-year-old alleged deputy city Marshal Frank Angell barged into her house without a warrant and began taking photographs.

The teenager went on to claim Deputy Marshal Angelle laid hads on her when she attempted to photograph his actions with her cell phone.

After reviewing the evidence police say Deputy Marshall Angelle was just performing his job when the owner of the residence in question asked him to enter the house and remove property inside that belonged to the owner.
