A motorcyclist is dead following an accident in Broussard. It happened shortly after 1:00 PM Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of North Bernard Road.

According to Broussard Police, a motorcycle ridden by Patrick Wafer was traveling south at a high rate of speed on Bertrand when a when a tractor trailer rig traveling north made a left hand turn into a driveway.

Police say wafer's motorcycle slammed into the right rear side of the 18 wheeler. Wafer was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead on the scene.

At last report no charges have been filed.
