Rash of car burglaries in Lafayette

Posted: Updated:

Some Hub City residents learned the hard way what happens when you leave your vehicle unlocked in the drive-way.

Residents off of West Bayou Parkway and Charles Read Avenue woke up Tuesday morning to find items missing from their cars. Lafayette police say approximately 15 cars in that area were targeted by one or more thieves. Police say the suspected car burglars stole change and electronic devices.

There's no physical evidence left over from the car burglaries like broken glass because none were forced entry, but police are searching for fingerprints and images from security cameras.
