Lafayette police are seeking information on a shooting that occurred Saturday night around 9 p.m.

Police responded to the 1100 block of North University Avenue. An 18-year-old male victim told officers a black male approached his vehicle while he was at a residence on Madeline Avenue. The suspect, for reasons still under investigation, fired one shot striking the victim in the stomach.

The victim drove to a nearby convenience store and contacted police. He was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
