Authorities find body of missing LSU student

Posted:

ST. GABRIEL, La. (AP) - Authorities have recovered the body of an LSU senior whose family had not heard from him since early Tuesday.

St. Gabriel Police Chief Kevin Ambeau said a Baton Rouge police helicopter scanning the area for Christopher Broussard located his pickup just after 7 p.m. Wednesday off La. Highway 30 in Iberville Parish.

With the help of Broussard's family, Ambeau says authorities were able to identify the lone body found inside the truck as Broussard.

The 22-year-old Broussard was last seen at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday leaving the bar.

Baton Rouge police Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said Wednesday that investigators had no reason to suspect foul play in the incident.
