Benefit to fund search for missing UL student

Posted: Updated:

Friends, family and area businesses are sponsoring a family fun day on Saturday, September 7, to raise funds for the private search of UL Lafayette student Danielle Wright and six others missing.

The event will take place at Blackham Coliseum from 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for folks under 21.

Many local groups have donated their time and talents to help the search efforts including Geno Delafose, Travis Matte, Mackenzie Bourg, Dustin Ray and Southern Grove, American Heart Band, Mike Dean, Shawn and Lance Band, Beau Young, and Elvis Barker. At 6:30 p.m., Our Savior's Church will lead a time of praise and worship.

Live and silent auctions will go on throughout the day. Already donated are vacation getaways, hunting trips, a 2013 Honda Rancher ATV, and much more.
