SLCC receives $500k for new RN program

Posted: Updated:

Earlier this summer, South Louisiana Community College officials announced that SLCC is adding a new registered nursing program.

The RN program is expected to anchor the school's new health and science building. SLCC partners contributed $500,000 to establish the new program. The new program was approved by the Louisiana Board of Nursing earlier this year. The school is working to hire faculty and develop curriculums and policies.

Officials with SLCC said this new RN program will help fill healthcare needs in Acadiana and the state. The program will start in the Spring of 2014.
