Scott man arrested after rides horse into bar, then ropes a man

Posted: Updated:

A Scott man was arrested after he rode his horse into a bar and roped a man using a lasso.

Police say 26-year-old Edward Mouton was highly inebriated when he rode his horse into Cowboy's Saloon Tuesday night. Authorities say Mouton exited the bar and rode around before returning to enter the bar once more.

After he was escorted outside, Mouton roped a 47-year-old man using a lasso. He continued to drag the man throughout the parking lot from the horse. After Mouton returned the horse to his parent's residence he returned to the bar on foot. Officers arrested Mouton after he attempted to hide behind newly manufactured trailers.

Mouton was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. He has been charged with disturbing the peace, remaining after being forbidden, second degree battery and public intimidation and retaliation.
