Light at the end of the tunnel

Posted: Updated:

A major renovation project at the Acadiana Mall is just months away from completion. The multimillion dollar project began in April.

It includes putting in new floors, entrance ways, more plush sitting areas and painting all of the walls. One of the more noticeable changes comes in the center of the mall where the raised, sitting area with the fountain was leveled off and removed. That then created more of a free flowing area for venders and benches.

But don't expect many new stores to move in right away. According to General Manager Bryan Leblanc the mall is 99% leased but he hopes to make an announcement by the end of the year with any new stores coming in.

Another change that's coming soon will be replacing the old Mall of Acadiana signs with Acadiana Mall signs. The entire project should be complete by November.
