St. Martin Parish rings In new school year

Posted: Updated:

The school bell in St. Martin Parish rings bright and early Friday morning.

School officials say they are ready and hope students and parents are too. The district has a new superintendent, about 60 new teachers and new administration. They want to remind the nearly 9000 students who ride the bus to be on time to the bus stop, busses will not wait.

Once onboard, students are asked to be on their best behavior because goofing around on the bus can distract the driver. All busses are equipped with cameras that record both video and audio and will be used to review any incidents on board. They also want to send a friendly reminder to drivers because school zone speed limits will be in place.

If you have any questions about school start times or bus schedules you can contact St. Martin School System at 337-332-3388 extension 3273.
