With the beginning of the school year right around the corner many are going shopping for those all important supplies and in St. Landry Parish folks are making sure those children who need them get them.

The second annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive has kicked off with drop off locations in different parts of the parish. The drive is organized by the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way. This year's edition will have a special treat for Zydeco fans.

The first "Steppin Up to Stuff the Bus", Zydeco extravaganza will feature a handful of great bands at Pavilion at Le Vieux Village in Opelousas. The event starts at 5 p.m. on Friday August 2.

The cost of admission is wrapped school supplies. Drop-off locations throughout the week are at Donald Gardner Stadium in Opelousas and Teche Federal Bank in Eunice.

Bands include Lil' Wayne & Same Ol' 2 Step; Horace Trahan, DJ Top Dog aka Chip, Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Road Runners.
