The Acadiana Home School Commandos football team consider themselves soldiers on the gridiron. This home school football team enters its 6th year of existence and last season captured their first state title.
"People are getting accustomed to the fact that home school kids are athletes too." said Coach Jeremy Davidson.
These home school kids last year put up some gaudy numbers that ranked up their with a number of teams all across the country.
"Last year we set some records. We had people that were not only top 10's in the home school association. But in the state of Louisiana. People come out and hear that we play for the Commandos and they go that's cool. People know about Tim Tebow now they know about us. It's nice to be recognized," said player Josh Hamontree.
These guys don't differ than prep players you'll find at private or public schools. They abide by the same academic standards as the LHSAA and do the same things other prep football players do.
"We get together and workout and go to movies and go and play X-box just like what teenage guys do." said Hamontree.
