Motorists and residents near the 3300 block of Johnston Street earlier Wednesday got an eye full of hectic activity.
The Lafayette Metro Narcotics Unit surrounded the area while making a drug bust at a store called The Smoke Shop. According to metro narcotics' Captain John Babin, agents found more than $14,000 worth of synthetic cannabinoids. Task force agents entered the shop around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Mohhamad Abdalla was arrested and charged with produce, manufacturing, distribute, dispense, possession of schedule I substances. Transaction involving proceeds from drug offenses; money derived from drugs.
Joshua Sheppard was also arrested and charged with produce, manufacturing, distribute, dispense, possession of schedule I substances.
Authorities are also looking for 32-year-old Troy Manson. Manson is wanted for distribution of schedule I narcotics.
Also in an unrelated investigation, Metro Agents were called to assist the Lafayette Police Department with a meth Lab at a local Motel. The Lafayette Fire Department Haz-Mat unit was also called to the scene to neutralize the chemicals use in the meth lab by the suspect.
Components to a clandestine meth lab were located in the room with suggest the lab had been in use.
Jay Calhoun was arrested and charged with operation a clandestine meth lab.
