It's a Fourth of July tradition like no other and dates back decades.
The Water Fights in Erath attracted hundreds of people to the downtown area early this morning. This year five fire departments including Erath, Youngsville, Henry, Delcambre and Leblanc battled it out for a trophy and of course bragging rights.
Those who get involved each and every year, say this is one day everyone can kick back and have a little fun. Erath Fire Chief Tristin Bouillion says it's nice to see the people line the streets in this perceptive rather than during a tragedy.
For those wondering who took first place Leblanc fire department did for the fourth year in a row. Erath came in second and Delcambre came in third.
