Nine Lafayette firefighters were treated for various injuries after battling a house fire Saturday night in the 100 block of Levison Way in River Ranch.
The owners were home at the time and think it could have all been started by a lightning strike. Alton Trahan, with the Lafayette Fire Department says when firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the roof.
The nine firefighters were complaining about skin irritation and respiratory problems. They were examined and have been treated and released by doctors. Officials are looking into what may have caused the injuries, they feel insulation could be a contributing factor.
