A 125 acre piece of property located in upper Lafayette will soon be called home to hundreds of families.
The property called Couret Farms is located southwest of I-49 and W. Pont Des Mouton road. The new development will be turned into a mixture of retail, business, residential and recreational living. Phase one of that project is well underway, with homes already lining the area.
And with a river ranch style layout at a much lower cost, Couret Farms will give people a new option when it comes to where they live and shop. According to Jan Swift with the Upper Lafayette Economic Development Foundation this is a vision and a lifestyle that is being recognized as something people want and need.
Swift says the one thing she hears the most from people who work in the area is that they have been waiting for something like this. Something that will prompt them to move to upper Lafayette because right now options in that area are limited but this will open the door up to a new lifestyle they want to live.
The first residents at Couret Farms are expected to move in this fall. If you would like more information you can go to www.upperlafayette.com
