A plan is being considered by city parish officials that could set the stage for changes on one of the fastest growing areas of Lafayette Parish; Ambassador Caffery Parkway.
2010 marked the beginning of the four lane extension of Ambassador in the southern area of Lafayette Parish and on Tuesday the Lafayette Parish Council is set to vote on the resolution by Lafayette City Parish Councilman Don Bertrand.
The resolution calls on the city parish planning zoning and codes department to create a special district for Ambassador that would require new businesses be set back at least 55 feet on both sides of the road. The changes would affect the area from Vermilion River Bridge southeast to the Bonin Road intersection.
