Some of Acadiana's youngest artists will showcase their talents Saturday in downtown Lafayette for the 2013 Student Arts Expo.
The free annual event is designed to increase public knowledge of the arts in education with nearly 100 performances and visual arts exhibits representing every school in the Lafayette Parish School District from students of preK - 12th grades. The expo includes both performance and visual arts such as poetry readings, dance, theater and music.
Visual arts exhibits are displayed at 20 locations throughout the downtown area at participating businesses. The Student Arts Expo is presented by Lafayette Parish School System and Acadiana Center for the Arts, with support from Downtown Lafayette and Lafayette Consolidated Government.
