LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - It's being called an online suggestion box. Lafayette Parish school system employees can use it to suggest ideas for bridging a $12 million budget shortfall. The Advocate reports that the suggestion box was set to open Wednesday afternoon.
By then, school district Chief Financial Officer Billy Guidry and other Lafayette Parish School System administrators will have paid visits to every school in the district to lay out financial challenges for the coming school year.
Guidry said Tuesday that the district has compiled its own list of possible reductions, but no decisions have been made.
