Four people are charged with gun and drug crimes after deputies found a 3-year-old child dead in a New Iberia House.
The toddler was found by first responders in a house on the 500 block of Malain Street after responding to a call about an unresponsive child. They also found illegal drugs and a sawed off shotgun.
All four adults who were in the house with two other children have been charged with possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, among other charges.
The child's cause of death is unknown and an investigation is ongoing.
