From the LPSS:
LJ Alleman Middle Students Evacuated After Alleged Bomb Threat - Just after 1:00 pm the administration of LJ Alleman evacuated the school building after learning of a bomb threat. Administrators were informed that a student had written on a bathroom stall's wall that there was a "pressure-cooker bomb" on the school's campus. Almost identical to the threat found at Broussard Middle School on yesterday.
Lafayette Police and Fire Department have given the all clear. Students have returned to class and will be dismissed at the usual time and manner.
The Lafayette Police and Fire Department are on the scene and a HazMat team is currently checking the entire campus for any potential threats.
Again, no students were harmed and all parents are being notified as to the exact location the students have been moved to. Any change in today's schedule will be reported.
More information about the results of the will be released as it is made available from the Lafayette Parish Police Department.
