Many municipalities throughout our state are facing budgetary concerns and the Village of Maurice is not immune. Maurice Mayor Wayne Theriot says at this point his staff is looking over the numbers, hoping to save money in any way they can in order to avoid any major cuts. One way his administration is being more efficient is by trading in gas guzzling vehicles.
""We went from a 7 miles per gallon vehicle to a vehicle that runs for 3 weeks off of one tank of gas. Doing things like that help us out with the budget."
Mayor Theriot was featured on our morning segment called Brewing Issues. The series runs weekdays between 6 and 7 during Passé Partout where elected officials are interviewed on issues facing their districts.
