NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A stickup caught on surveillance video turned into a chase when the intended victim grabbed the shotgun pointed at his face and ran after the former gunman.
New Orleans police say that shortly afterward, two men drove up to the man, asking him to return the gun in exchange for a phone he supposedly had dropped. Officer Frank Robertson says the man used the shotgun to break the car's rear window.
The incident took place about 5 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of Burgundy (buhr-GUN-dee) Street, about three blocks outside the French Quarter.
Police released the video Monday, hoping someone who sees it will identify the gunman. He's described as black, about 16 to 20 years old, 6 feet tall, and thin.
