Every year, 10,000 babies born in Louisiana are born pre-mature. That's four percent higher than the national average.
Having a premature baby or a baby with birth defects is very costly for parents. Luckily, organizations like the March of Dimes can help off-set the costs and provide resources.
Saturday, the organization will be celebrating their 75th anniversary by hosting the "March for Babies" event which raises money for the program. The event will be held at Girard Park beginning at 9 p.m.
