Opelousas Prevents Crime With Virtual Surveillance

The Opelousas Police Department is touting its new surveillance system after they say it helped prevent a burglary. Police arrested a father and son duo, Douglas Zaunbrecher Sr., and his son Douglas Jr. Police say the two men broke into Progressive Tractor which is located on the I-49 service road. Officers say the two were trying to steal an ATV. Both men are charged with one count each of simple burglary and resisting an officer. Opelousas Police say they are the first law enforcement agency in the country to prevent a burglary utilizing the virtual patrol system.
