LAFAYETTE, La. Local government representatives, business leaders, developers, and Whitney Bank officials joined in breaking ground Tuesday for the new River Ranch complex that will become Whitney's regional headquarters for the Lafayette, Central Louisiana, and Morgan City markets.
In addition to a full-service bank branch and administrative offices, Whitney's 20,000 square feet of offices will house approximately 50 bank associates and all of Whitney's lines of business, including business banking, commercial and middle market lending, investments and trust management, private banking, and insurance.
"We at Whitney Bank are committed to the Lafayette area because it's one of our most important markets and because it's home for so many of us. This new facility will offer customers and our community convenient access to all the financial services they need—right in the heart of the city," said Whitney Bank Lafayette Regional President Duayne Richard. "We've been a part of Louisiana for 130 years. We're proud to grow with Lafayette, and we're always looking for ways to give customers the best service and a full array of convenient financial choices best suited for their needs."
Whitney currently has a River Ranch branch. Opening local headquarters and a branch in the new building will allow the bank to upgrade technology and welcome customers to an innovative, contemporary environment that could become the prototype for future Whitney branches.
Richard said the construction project is expected to take 15 months to complete.
