Over the weekend a two-alarm fire destroyed the recycling foundation's facility.
As a result of the fire the company's public recycling drop off site is temporarily closed but there will be no interruption to residential curbside recycling. As part of its contract with the city the recycling foundation is required to operate a drop off site with-in Lafayette Parish for individuals who do not have curbside recycling but who want to recycle.
The recycling foundation's Division Manager Steven Cheatham says they are currently working on establishing a new drop-off site for the public and a decision will be made as early as next week.
