Governor Jindal's tax swap proposal is continuing to receive some negative feedback. More than 250 Louisiana clergy members have signed a letter to the governor opposing his tax plan.
The letter says the proposal is unfair and would worsen the financial burden on those with poor to moderate incomes.
Last week, Jindal revealed that the sales tax increase would jump from 4% to just under 5.9%.
Combine that with local sales taxes, Louisiana would have the highest average sales tax nationwide.
