PLAY BALL
Louisiana takes in its first midweek contest in three weeks when the Cajuns welcome Southern to M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field on Tuesday, March 19. The last midweek contest the Cajuns played was Feb. 27 vs. Nicholls State (W, 5-1).

SWEEPSTAKES
The Cajuns began Sun Belt play with a sweep for the first time since 2007 by capturing all three games of the Sun Belt opening series with ULM last weekend. It was Louisiana's third series sweep (UTSA, SHU, ULM) through five weekends in 2013.

THE SOUTHERN SERIES (Louisiana leads 47-23-1)
After a brief hiatus from 2006-08, the series resumed in 2009 at "The Tigue". Series is 71 games old, but only 12 meetings have taken place since 1988 (a total of 59 meetings were held from 1988 and before). The Jaguars snapped the Cajuns eight-game series win streak with a 3-2 win on April 10, 2012 at Lee-Hines Field in Baton Rouge. The Cajuns are 7-0 vs. Southern at "The Tigue" under Tony Robichaux.

BULLPEN READY FOR WORK
Expect the Cajuns to use Tuesday's game as an opportunity to get the bullpen some innings after only one reliever was needed in the ULM sweep – Matt Hicks. All three Cajuns starting pitchers (Wilson, Robichaux, Boutte) worked seven-plus innings in the series.

CLOSING THE DOOR
Matt Hicks made it 7-for-7 in save situations, closing out the Saturday and Sunday games of the ULM series. Hicks' seven saves are a personal-best, two off the school single-season record (9, Justin Robichaux in 2008) and his 11 career saves is one off the career record (12, Kraig Schambough and Justin Robichaux).

RAISING THE BAR
Dating back to the start of the Sacred Heart series, Chase Compton is batting .500 (11-of-22) which has upped his season average from .222 prior to the SHU series to .347.

AN ARMY OF HITTERS
Eleven (11) different Cajuns have already piled up double digit hits.

STRENTZ RETURNS
Catcher Michael Strentz returned to action after a hand injury from the Sacred Heart series finale sidelined him during the Southern Miss series (March 8-10).

PUTTING STREAKS TOGETHER
Louisiana is riding a season-best five-game win streak into Tuesday's contest. It's the third win streak of at least four games.
