A Northside High school student has been arrested for allegedly ramming a door into the stomach of a pregnant teacher.
News 10 has learned the 17-year-old student was arrested just after noon Thursday on a charge of battery of a schoolteacher.
He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail and released later Thursday.
Police said the conflict began when the teacher removed another student from her classroom to avoid a fight and she followed that student into the hallway.
The accused 17-year-old tried to open the door from within the classroom and allegedly rammed the teacher who was blocking the doorway.
