Saint Landry Parish Sheriff's Office say us the two bodies found inside a residence in Leonville suffered from gunshot wounds. Authorities tell us the bodies are that of Lawrence Davis and Marlene Weston. Police first received a call from a family member who told them she had not spoken to either of the two in a couple of days.
That's when deputies were dispatched to the residence and found the bodies.
They found a small caliber revolver near the bodies but it is unclear if the incident was a suicide, murder suicide or murder.
The incident remains under investigation.
A man and woman were found dead in a home near Leonville. The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Department is investigating but has not released any other information. The Sheriff says they are waiting on autopsy results before releasing cause of death.
St. Landry Parish School Board members confirm the woman is Marlene Weston, a longtime Opelousas High teacher who was currently teaching at Opelousas Junior High
